Subject: [BARRINGER] Southern genealogy and State-wide chats online! Come join us!
Date: Sat, 27 Sep 2003 18:48:56 -0700 (PDT)
Hi all! This is just a reminder about an email I sent earlier about the new
chat rooms that are online for anyone to come to (and not just AOL anymore!).
Particularly, I'm sending an email about the different southern chats we have.
There is a general Southern US genealogy chat that covers VA, NC, SC, GA, FL,
AL, TN, KY, MS, etc. (basically any state from VA on down). These chats occur
a couple of times throughout the week. One is held on Monday afternoons from
2-3pm EST (1-2 CST, 12-1 MST, 11-12 PST) in the room "Brick Walls", The other
is held Saturday nights from 9-10 pm EST (8-9 CST, 7-8 MST, 6-7 PST) in the
room "Skeleton Closet". There are also chats for specific states (and not just
the south!). Chats of interest to my surname lists are as follows: NC/SC on
Monday nights from 7-9pm EST in "Brick Walls",IL/IN/IA on Tuess. nights 9-10pm
EST in "Brick Walls", VA/WV on Wed. nights from 7-8pm EST in "Brick Walls", KY
on Wed. nights from 8-9pm EST in "Brick Walls", PA on Thurs. nights 9-10pm EST
AND Fri. nights 10-11pm EST both in "Brick Walls", CT/MA on Fri. nights 8-9pm
EST in "Brick Walls", MA/RI on Sunday nights 10-11pm EST in "Brick Walls". To
see a full schedule of all chats and the rooms they are in, go to
http://www.genealogyforum.org This is a great site, but not a lot of people
yet. Come check us out. I don't work for this group or anything, but there
almost every night I can make it, especially the Southern, IL/IN/IA, and NC/SC
chats. This site has so much potential to be a great place for genealogists to
connect, we all just need to go there :o) hehe. AOL does still have their chat
rooms as well, now located in the "Parenting" section, but these rooms can be
accessed by anyone with internet access. Hope to see you there. The screen
names I go by on there are either "Erin" "eabradfo" or "LibraryBookNCSU". Good
luck everyone with your search and hope people are digging up lots of new
cousins!
