I come from a line of Barringers and Palens in the Ulster County area (Kingston). My Grandmother's name on my father's side of the family was Mabel Barringer Nichols and my Mother is a Palen. I had always heard as a kid that my parents were somehow distant cousins this may be the connection. I can try to give you some further information that I have if you are interested.
