Am interested in your Frederick Co., MD Barringers. My g,g,grandfather George Bearinger/Barringer served in the MD Militia during the War of 1812. This family also had ties to Bedford Co., PA.

I have not been able to pinpoint the family of George b. 1797, Bedford Co., PA. After living in MD, George settled in Fayette Co., PA and later lived in Monongahela, Washington Co., PA.

Have you tried the American Revolution Rootsweb list? They seem to be able to answer most questions re units.

Would like to share Barringer info.
