I am looking for any and all information about Susan Barringer born probably in the vicinity of 1850-1860 in the Albany area of NYS. My gr-grandfather, Lester, was dropped off at an orphanage in the Albany area in 1887-1890 because his parents could not afford to care for so many children. Later in his life, he did some work to try to find his birth mother. Apparently it was not the reunion he desired, as he never talked about it again. However, on the copy of his Social Security Application which I acquired, he lists his mother?s maiden name as Susan Barranger. From my Gr-Aunt, I learned that Susan had married several times, and that my gr-grandfather was probably born Lester McDonald, though she wasn?t sure if that was Susan?s first husband or not. As most of this comes to me by word of mouth from my Grandmother and her sister, I do not know how much of it is exact and how much approximate. Nonetheless, I would appreciate any help or pointers that anyone might be ab!
