Hello Pam, I noticed your question in Family History Boards, as I m also following the Barringer line. In the genforum.genealogy there was a person looking for info of a George Barringer who raced at Indy 500 during the years of 1934, 1936,1939,1940, 1941 and 1946, if this is ay help to you.
