Is there any connection between the
Barringer and the Baringer family which
was originally spelled Bohringer.
There are several names which are in
both families. George, William,
Caroline.

The Bohringers\Baringers immigrated from
Oelbron, Germany in 1817. They had set
sail from Amsterdam for Philadelphia but
the boat was blown off course and
somehow they ended up in New Orleans
several months later. I'm sure that is
an interesting story but the information
is very sketchy.

>From there, they traveled up the
Mississippi and Ohio rivers and settled
in the Louisville, Kentucky area.

Over the years they branched out into
Iowa, Illinois, and Ohio.

Perhaps they're long lost cousins who
were supposed to meet in Philadelphia
and became separated.
