Curt: I have both surnames in my wife's data file. She is/was a BEAVER,
and is from Concord, NC. The Eagles all came from the same line of Swiss
emigrants to Pennsylvania, then on to NC. The name was originally Egley,
then Egle, then Eagle. There is a pretty good book you might want to try
and find there in Salisbury. It's called "The Eagle Family in America,
1690-1998" by Rachel Hinson Hill. I ordered it from a lady named Glenda
Wagoner, 340 St Matthews Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. I think she
published it. While it is a nice book (lots of pictures, war records,
etc), it does not have an index, therefore it is difficult to find
people in it. In a quick perusal of it, I did not find your Mary Eagle,
but that doesn't mean she's not in it. All of the NC Eagles descended
from a George Eagle, b. abt 1752 Lancaster Co, PA, d. abt 1820, Rowan
Co, NC and his wife Anna Maria Heilig, or one of his brothers.

There wee lots of Barringers as well, but I don't have a book on them.
Actually, I do have a book "John Paul Barringer (1721-1807) of
Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Cos., NC" by Sheridan Reid Barringer, 23 Horse
Pen Road, Newport News, VA 23602. It's really just a historical account
of J P Barringer, who was considered the patriarch of the Barringer line
in NC. You can see lots of graves for all of these folks in 2 or 3
cemeteries in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. Primarily go see the Organ
Lutheran Church Cem in Rowan, the St Johns Lutheran Church Cem in Mt.
Pleasant, and the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cem, also in Cabarrus.

Sorry I cannot be more definitive on your GF/GM specifically, but you
did not provide any dates so I don't know the timeframe we're talking
about. If it's fairly recent (1940 to now). They may not be in any books
anyway.

I'll be glad to help further if you want to get back to me. Good luck to
you in your quest. I really enjoyed digging around in the history up in
your area. It's a nice part of the country.

Regards,
Warren
