To Linda, and Norman Barringer--I know there were some
BARRINGER/BERNINGERS in Columbus in the 1870's and 1880's, because my
gg-grandmother was there and her maiden name was BERNINGER, but think I
have seen others there in that time frame. I suggest trying to find her
birth record in Franklin Co, OH, in 1823, then if no luck, maybe trying
to find it in Fairfield Co., where there were also a couple of early
BARRINGER/BERNINGERS. Know there were also some about 1860-1870 in
Champaign and Logan Co's. You might also try finding BARRINGERS (her
parents) in that area in the 1820 Federal census. Good luck!
