After a two-year hiatus, decided to get back on the list. Have been working
on my line again and am working on a Sarah (Sally) Barringer (1797-1878) who
married Jacob House in Cabarrus county, NC.

There seems to be a fair amount of info out there on the Barringers although
I confess I get confused over which John is which (there seems to be a John
Paul, a senior, a junior, and God knows what else), As best as I can figure
it, John Paul was born in Germany, emigrated to PA, and then moved to NC.
One of his sons is John Sr., and I think he’s my line with daughter Sophia.

I’m a little confused on where John Paul emigrated to in PA (mid 1700s).
Some sources say Bucks County. Others have it to the town of Luzerne in the
Wyoming Valley near Altoona. But when I checked the history of Luzerne and
the Wyoming Valley, everyone seems to agree that the first settlers didn’t
arrive until the end of the 1700s. Can anyone help on this point or anything
else?
