Hello everyone.

First off, I want to say congratulations to the people who have been able to
make new connections through the list! Feel free to share your "Bingo!"
stories of how you connected with someone on the list, I don't mind:) (FYI:
"Bingo" is what we say on AOL when we make a connection with someone in the
genealogy chat rooms).

Secondly, I want to apologize for neglecting the lists as I have for soo
long. I'm having a hard time right now with everything that is going on, I
have been under lots of stress. I'm now finally able to start back up with
giving the lists and web page more attention than I have in the past. Also,
for those of you with ancestors from Cabarrus County, NC, I am the new
webmaster for the Cabarrus Co. ALHN page (it hasn't started yet as I have no
server space yet). I'll let you know when that gets up.

Now, the main reason I'm writing is because I'm glad to see that some of
these lists (Black, Bradford, and Hackett mostly) have been pretty active
without my help, but the rest of the lists are pretty inactive. I'm
wondering if any one has any suggestions for what I can do to boost
activity? I know there are some people who join the list, but don't like
any activity and as soon as there is even just 1 post after weeks of
nothing, they unsubscribe. I'm not worried about them because that just
means they aren't very interested in the first place. My concern is with
the people who DON"T unsubscribe. Obviously, they want to find thier
connections and I want to help! I had the word of the week program for a
little while? Do you think I should continue with that? or is that a waste
of time? I truly value you input because this is more YOUR list than it is
mine, I just pay for it :) hehe. Please feel free to email me any
suggestions, no matter how big or small, dumb or smart, EVERYthing is
appreciated because it shows me there are still people interested in the
lists.

Also, before I go, I want to address the fact that some people have been
sending non-genealogy related material to the list. Please don't do this
without getting my approval first. Thanks.

Good bye and good luck,

Erin Bradford
