Hello,

I have recently found the burial place for the parents of my g,grandfather
William Barringer b. 1838. William is buried in a Civil War section of the
Old Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA. While there I found his parents
George Barringer and Mary; and his brother John. Do not know Mary's maiden
name; but, it could be Shellenberger.

Geroge's record at the caretakers office states that he served in the War of
1812 and was born in Bedford Co., PA. I also know that this family had
lived in Maryland.

In the 1850 Census for Fayette Co., Pa. for Cookstown later called Fayette
City, the Census taker spelled the surname as Bearinger. On Ancestry.com I
found a George Bearinger listed as a Private in the 2Regt (Heath's) Maryland
Militia for the War of 1812. George also enlisted in the 79th PA. for the
Civil War.

Is there anyone else on the list that has Barringer/Bearinger family buried
in the Monongahela Cemetery at Monongahela, PA. or have Maryland ties with
this family? I would like to share info with you.

Thank you,

Marilyn Jenkins Prinzing, NE Illinois
