This information is from the 1850 Census for Cockstown, Fayette Co. PA. I am
almost positive the Barringer's from Fayette Co. were originally in Bedford
Co., PA and Washington/Frederick Co., MD. I am descended from these
Barringer's as well. My ancestor, Laurence Barringer, and at least one son,
Jacob moved from Bedford Co. to Fayette Co around 1820. There are scant
records of all these Barringer's, and it has been difficult trying to figure
out which Barringer's went with which family, but it's almost assured that
they are all related somehow. You'll note that your William fits in exactly
with an 1838 birthdate.
