Subject: [BARRINGER-L] BARRINGER family in Kentucky
Date: Mon, 18 Jan 1999 14:27:46 EST

Johann Jakob BARRINGER b. 1783 in Wuertemberg, Germany d. 24 Jan 1866 in
Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. married 29 Oct 1809 to Catherina GOBEL
in Germany. They came from Germany to Kentucky through the port of New
Orleans, LA. about 1819, name of ship unknown at this time. They are both
buried in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. They
had the following children known to me.

Daniel BARRINGER b. 09 Apr 1809 Germany, married 13 Mar 1828 to Rebecca Ann
LOVIER in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Moved to Jackson County, Indiana, where
he lived for some 30 years before moving on to Nodaway County, Missouri, where
he died. (This is my direct ancestor, and I can provide information about
some of his descendants, some of who were born in Jefferson County, KY.}

John Englehardt BARRINGER b. 11 Jan 1812 Germany, d. ?

Frederice Carolina BARRINGER b. 02 Dec 1813 Germany, d. ?

Catherina BARRINGER b. 06 Apr 1816 Germany, d. 17 Dec 1817 Germany.

Frederick M. BARRINGER b. 08 Aug 1818 probably in Germany, d. ?

Wilhelm BARRINGER b. 21 Apr 1821 Jefferson County, KY., d. ?

Jacob BARRINGER b. 18 Mar 1825 Jefferson County, KY. d. 1847 probably KY.

I hope that this will help someone out. As I said, I can provide further
information on some of these lines, but none on others. I suspect that some
of these folks had further families in Kentucky, especially some of the
children of Daniel BARRINGER.

Hope to hear from anyone interested in this line.

Gene Whitley
