That is an example of the perfect post!:) (lots of info) first off, you
talked about the book "the barringer family" ?, how did you get ahold of
that book? I'm pretty sure that book would have info on my Barringers since
they are from Cabarrus Co. (which I'll try to post today) Also, I have info
on the 1790 NC census myself, but not according to counties, but rather by
pages. I have 2 other Barringers that you didn't list, they were most
likely in Rowan Co. (pages 177, 178), here is their info:
They spelt their last name as Baringer as did Mathias above:
Name fwm+16 fwm-16 fwf page
Jacob 1 1 2 178
Peter 3 1 3 177
Now, I need to ask a favor. I don't have access to a family history center
at this time because I'm living on campus and the city bus doesn't go there
and it would cost me about $20 round trip with a cab of which I don't have.
I have other census info which I will put on the homepage below sometime
this week when I get the chance, but as with above, I don't know the
counties, just the pages. If there is someone who has access to the family
history centers or to the books with the census info for the 1790 census,
would you please contact me if you are willing to find the counties...it's
easy to do and shouldn't take longer than 1/2 at MOST. I need to find out
what page is what county. You could do it by grouping the pages for the
county such as: cabarrus p67-80 or something like that and that would work
fine for me. I need this done for both NC and PA as they are the ones that
have Barringer info. I also need it done for VA, MD, and ME but there isn't
Barringer info there, so if you don't want to, i understand. Right now, PA
is the only state so far with Barringer info in the 1790 census. Also going
on the homepage withing the week hopefully is some Barringer info i've found
in the NC census 1800-1800. I will get to that as time permits, but realize
this is the first week of classes for me so I might not be able to get to it
this week. Thanks.
