George M. Barringer born in 1777 married in Cabarrus Co. in 1803 to Elizabeth
MENSINGER ,
daughter of William Mensinger AND SISTER TO MARTIN HARKEY'S WIFE" Martin
Harkey was his bondsman.
Catherine b 1744 is a mystery. I first thought she might be the sister
of John Paul Barringer "Pioneer Paul" and he names his first daughter
Catherine.
In "The Barringer Family" in Catawba County, published 1953 by Mrs Henry C.
Cline, shows: Wilhelm and Paulina Behringer Wurtemburg Germany, etc. had six
children: John Paul, Mathias, George Henry, Annie Maraia, CATHERINE and Dolly.
(This book possibly on microfilm thru the LDS library) Her book,
however, indicates John Paul b 1721 md Ann Eliza Eisman, Mathias b 1730 md
Margaret Bushart, George Henry b 1732 md a Scotch lady, Anna Maria md
Christian Barnhardt, CATHERINE md Christian Overcash, and Dolly md Nicholas
Cook. Perhaps, Overcash died and Catherine remarried to Martin Harkey.
