It's a pity that many people who are most interested in Ayers/res genealogy don't have access, as it were, to a bona fide Ayers y chromosome.
Even if one does, the person may not send in the kit. If part of the delay is due to the expense, it makes perfect sense for the non-y'ers (or non-Ayres surname males) to chip in, as the results from one person pretty much apply to the entire line. Shares the expense.
