Jonathan,

Congradulations are you endevour. I am involved Ithe Newton DNA Project. Gregg (our administrator) set our main page up on Rootsweb-free pages but with two testing links. One to Family Tree DNA and other to DNA Heritage.

Yes, DNA Heritage compares up to 43 Markers. As of last week FT DNA does 59. The prices are not that much different and for most individuals the smaller 12 marker test offered by FT DNA is sufficient to prove their paper trail.

I manage the DNA Heritage side of the project and can affirm that as an administrator you will find your abilities to generate reports and e-mail participants is better using the FT DNA side of your project.

So create a parallel project with FT DNA. The link them both to your home page.

Remember you are the Project. FamilyTree DNA and DNA Heritage are basically nothing more than contacts for testing labs.

Test result transference is as follows:
FT DNA will not import some other companies test results on to their web page. DNA Heritage will allow you to import for display using a spreadsheet set up.

So you import data from both companies to your main page.

My ancestors were the Newtons out of Sudbury, Massachusetts (R1a) and married into Ayres or is that they married into my group.
