Hi. Looks like we are possibly from the same family tree! I have just recently been looking into family history (again), and I believe I may have some information for you.

I have information dating back to 1066--sketchy as it is. It does show where Thomas Ayer (of Welsh-Irish descent) came to Virginia and married in 1758. He died in 1781. I also don't have a birth date for him. He and his wife, Frances Malone, apparently settled on the east side of the Pee Dee River (the Carolina River). He took a prominent position in St. David's Parish and rendered patriotic services to the country throughout the revolutionary period, first as a private and later as a captain in Marian's Brigade.

We have had some relatives who were members of the DAR. Some of my family lived in Fayetville, N.C.

The information I have was taken from Thorpe's Catalogue of the Deeds of the Battle of Abbey.

The orignial family name was "Truelove."

Let me know if you want the information I have. I'll be glad to pass it along.

My mother's maiden name was Ayer.

Hope this helps.
