Dear Georgia,

I don't know if this is helpful, but my family name is spelled Goljan and we are from Poland. My grandfather was from Warsaw and fled to the Netherlands after World War II. With my mother and unckle I am now the only remaining Goljan in the Netherlands. The rest of the Goljans still live in Warsaw and in some other parts of Poland. I don't know if there is any link between my family and your grandfather, but at least you will have some extra information on the family name.
