Thank you to everyone for your help in this matter. It is a real mystery to us because Therezi Grull born Seliga told her granddaughter that it was a picture of her brother who would have been born about 1907/8 and therefore too young for him to have joined the military during the first world war. However, one of Therezi's daughters believes it to be a photo of her grandfather and that would fit since he was born about 1873. Unfortunately the family is scattered across 3 continents, Australia, Canada, and Europe (Germany)and none are still living in Hungary so records are not easy to access. I think that the Jozsef Seliga on the 1945 Memorial in Lokut was the son born about 1907/8. The family tells that he had been sent out by his military superior officer to get supplies from a flour mill, was caught in a blizzard and froze to death. They serched for him the next day and found him still sitting in the cart.
If I am able to find out any other information in this regard I will post again. My thanks to all.
Regards Brenda
