Using reverse marriages Wa I found this
Surname FirstName District Number Sex Year SpSurname SpFirstname
Fisher James William East Coolgardie 143 M 1959 Cook Lorraine Eva
This indicates that James was married here in Western Australia prior to going to Brisbane. I then googled Eva Lorraine Cook and found this posting on the Kalgoorlie list from 2000. You could try to contact the person below or follow up further
Also here is the marriage of the Donald Fisher and Vera mentioned below
