Hi all,
What can all you knowledgeable people tell me about the early days of this station property? I believe it was in the direction of Dunkeld out through Purdeet and may still exist.
I myself know nothing but would like to know where to find any printed information that is available especially about the time 1850 - 1900. Suggestions as to where to go to start a search are also welcome.
In the early days before Penshurst had a cemetery - 1850's on - burials took place there. Does any one know, or have they seen, how big this cemetery is and if the lists of burials have ever been published? - or even if there is any evidence now that there were burials?
I know the Registry of BMD's is working on a cemetery register but I can't wait for that to be made public - the people in the cemetery aren't going to go anywhere but I can't say the same for myself.
regards - Joy
