Hi - I'm a new lister looking for someone with this family on their tree:
Jean/Jane WILSON
She was born on 31 October 1880 at Scotts Creek, Hampdenshire (near Cobden).
Her parents were James Robert WILSON, a blacksmith who was born in
Perthshire, Scotland and Annie Louisa LAMONT, who was born at Geelong on 21
July 1859. Annie Louisa died, aged 23, in February 1884 and is buried in
the Scotts Creek Cemetery. In between the years 1877 and 1890 James Robert
WILSON had land at Cobden and was improving the property at week-ends while
working in the township as a blacksmith. In 1890 his license was forfeited
due to his sudden disappearance from the district - and from there the trail
becomes cold!
Jean/Jane had two sisters:
Mary Ann born 24 January 1879, married John Charles COLEMAN on 18 March
1894.
Abigail born 29 August 1882 died 27 June 1884 at Cobden a few months after
her mother's death.
Jean/Jane was still alive around 1901-1905 (even longer) as I have an
undated postcard she wrote to her sister Mary Ann which mentioned taking a
break to the coast when school holidays commenced.
Is anyone interested in Jean/Jane?
