I'm searching for a Henry MELVAN/MELVIN/MELVILLE who fathered Caroline
Lavina Eve about 1850 in N.Y.,N.Y. She married ( N.Y,N.Y. ) a Mr.
McGURK/McKAIK , but eventually made her way to
Australia, and, as a widow, became my great grandmother when she married
Nicholas PETERS in Gympie, Qld. in 1899, ten years after the birth of my
grandmother, (their child).
I had always assumed this Henry, her father, was American.
Your information suggests new avenues to search -including Australia.
