Here is the info on the family -
Rev Jabez Chambers - (born 9 Apr 1843 in Co Durham UK, died 1920 in
Yorkshire UK) x Elizabeth Ellis - (born 28 Feb 1947 Glasgow Scotland died
before 1894) Rev Jabez remarried as a widowwer to Jane Longbotham in 1894
(born 1844 in Yorks - died after 1901 place of death unknown)
Marriage Chambers x Ellis 17 Aug 1869 in Glasgow Scotland
This marriage produced 5 children
Albert Ellis Chambers 1871 - he worked in Stoke on Trent, UK + shows in the
UK 1901 census
Thomas Chambers 1872 - in the 1891 UK census he is working as an analytical
chemist
Leonard John Chambers 1876 - he is in Scotland in the 1881 census
Sarah Ellis Chambers 1878 - 1951 - my grandmother - born + died in the UK
Ernest H J Chambers 1879 - he is in Scotland in the 1881 census
Albert Ellis Chambers + his brother Thomas went to the Methodist school for
sons of ministers called Kingswood and it is from there that I have a
contact addresses for both Albert + Thomas - I would think this date is 1890
- 1910 ish as Thomas left the school in 1888. This contact address for
Thomas is
F.I.C. Works Manager, Kitchen and Sons, Soap and Candle Makers, Waratah, N.S
W
What FIC stands for I don't know - perhaps foreman in charge? First in
charge?
This is the first hint I have had that any of this side of the family went
to Australia - it's odd as we all knew that grandad's brother went out, but
til yesterday had no idea that my grandmother's brother went out as well
