The Calico Rock Museum Foundation is pleased to announce LaNelle Hamby has
accepted an appointment on the foundation's board of trustees. Ms. Hamby
fills the position formerly held by retiring trustee Barbara Fischer.
Fischer served on the board for the past three years. Ms. Hamby's
three-year term on the board will expire on December 31, 2014.
Ms. Hamby served for 20 years as the office manager of the Calico Rock
Industrial Development Corporation and Calico Rock/Pineville Chamber of
Commerce, the precursor to the Calico Rock Visitor Center. She has served
on the board and as president of the Chamber of Commerce and is an active
member of the First Baptist Church where she teaches the teen Sunday School
class. She and her husband, Tom, were partners and managers of the Country
Inn restaurant for many years. She is a lifelong resident of Calico Rock
and brings a wealth of experience to the position. Her first-hand knowledge
about the history of Calico Rock will serve the foundation well as she joins
the board.
Her experience as a business owner, office manager, and community leader
will bring excellence to the board of trustees.
