md 27 Sep 1911 in Izard County
Miss Anna Russell 40 of Elizabeth, Fulton County

It would seem Leannah was called Anna ? ?

Baxter Bulletin newspaper of Mountain Home, Baxter County, AR.
newspaper dated Feb. 9, 1940
Died: Mrs A. Rand 73, she died January 25 and married Sept 17, 1911 to W. S.
Rand, who was the father of six small children to whom she became a
stepmother. Survivors are her husband W. S. Rand of Elizabeth, Arkansas,
five step-children, three boys and two girls, one sister and four brothers.
Burial was in Hand Cemetery.

She is listed as L. I. Rand on her gravestone.
Her husband is listed as Simp Rand

W. S. Rand Dies in Hospital Saturday
W. S. "Simp" Rand, well known farmer and stockman of Elizabeth, died at the
Gassville hospital, Saturday evening. He had been ill several weeks.
Interment was at Hall's Chapel services in charge of Rev Roy Davis. Mr Rand
lived at Hand for many years, moving to Elizabeth when his land was taken
into Norfork lake basin.
Surviving, are three son, Homer of Bakersfield, Mo., L. C. of Rodney and J.
S. of Elizabeth, and two daughters, Mrs Langston of Missouri and Mrs
Dillinger of Elizabeth.

Alton Rand is buried in the Staggs Cemetery, Izard county.

In the 1900 census he was listed as William S. Rand and in 1910 Simpson
Rand.

Flora Alton (Cooper) Rand was not listed on Apr 25, 1910 census.

I have the second wife of William Simpson Rand as
Leannah Ino Russell, she married him in 1911, and served
as the stepmother for the children of his first wife. There
seems to be some confusion about the death dates of the
two wives....I have Alton Flora Cooper as dying 10 mar 1910,
just 3 days after the birth of her sixth child. He married
Leannah the next year and she was the one who died in 1940.
Can someone unravel this for me.....????? .....Harold B.
