Vera and all

I just checked the EHC Cemetery book and compared names listed on FAG in Crossroads Cemetery, and they are the same as listed in the EHC book in Wises Chapel. Only the older burials are shown in the book, as I believe it was surveyed around 1998, so any new burials would not be listed in the book.

A good explanation was given by someone, that changing a Cemetery name can take time and money, so perhaps the people or group who take care of the cemetery decided to place the sign on the fence and didn't change the name legally?

Anyone looking for a name in Izard Co. would probably be looking for a Wises Chapel Cemetery as that is the name of the cemetery in both books.

As far as Arkansas Gravestones listing is concerned, I believe it should be listed as "Wises Chapel/Crossroads" and noted in the comments that the people who take care of the cemetery prefer Crossroads. I don't have any thing to do with FAG but they should also put both names on their site to make it less confusing for anyone who comes looking for their ancestors.

This is what it shows on "Crossroads Cemetery". Vera, I don't know if this is where you were or not, but there is a great big sign on the chain link fence that says "Crossroads Cemetery" according to find a grave. I don't know if this is the same one as Wise Chapel or not. You can look at some of the postings and see if it is the same one.
Love 'ya
