I remember helping my mother make the foot stools out the juices can.
My Aunt and Uncle would safe us the cans. we made them for everyone
in the family from grandparents to Aunts and Uncle to cousins to neighbors
even gave away as wedding gifts.

Y'all are making me think of other things, like 'having more time than money!' Remember when people would make miniature furniture from vegetable cans? Talk about needing the patience of a saint!!! And I remember seeing a few 'ferris wheel' plant stands in peoples yards using either coffee cans or lard cans as the 'vases'. Or how about the big juice cans made into foot stools or childrens seats, when you added a bit of padding on top, and sewed material around them. Always looked like huge flowers to me. My mom would use the 3 lb coffee cans to make some really pretty TP holders, and she'd always make them as a wedding shower gift. Now they don't make coffee cans anymore, and I don't know anyone that uses gallon size vegetable cans; about the only substitute I think might work.
Ahhhh, it's getting late, hope everyone stays healthy, dry & warm.
