I don't think we ever connected our Baxter County Smiths.
Mine came from Hall County, GA.
Job / Jobe & Melissa (Hall) Smith several sons and families left GA about
1886-1888 headed for Howell County, MO. They both died somewhere along the
trail about the Newport, AR area. One son decided to stay in AR somewhere.
The rest went on to MO, 2 stayed there and 2 came on down to Baxter County
before 1900.

I never found a Tom as a sibling of my James M. Smith b.1853 GA.
