Guys,
I was wrong, here is what I had found
1860 USFedCen AR, Izard (Co.), NorthFork (Twp.)
Wm&Sarah Simons family
Ln21/699/698
Mary Denton 57 <1803> Ohio
Elizabeth Denton 20 <1840> TN
Susannah Denton 2<1858> AR
Joanna Denton 2 <1858> AR
A.R.&Eliza C. Studdard

1850 USFedCen   AR, Fulton (Co.), Bennett Bayou
John H. Cooper and wife, Mary Household
Ln21/17/17
Reubin Denton 62 <1788> m Fmr TN
Mary Denton 49 <1801> f           KY
Joseph Denton 14<1836>m         TN
Samuel Denton 12<1838>m        TN
Elizabeth Denton 9<1841>f         TN

prior to that, I had found more than one Reuben Denton that
made we wonder. I quite sure I have missed some zeros somewhere but this is the gest of what I saw

1840 USFedCensus  KY, Fleming (Co.), Dist 1
Reuben Denton
males               females
021001             00101

this might be the same family counted again
1840 USFedCensus  KY, Fleming (Co.), Dist 3
Reuben Denton
males                females
021001              00101

1840 USFedCen   TN, Franklin (Co.)
Reubin Denton
Males                        females
23300001                   011201

Is this what you were finding Sharon?
Have you an explanation?  You think there were two families for your
Reuben?
Had you tracked those KY land patents I sent previously?
Have a clue who your Reuben's parents were?
Beth

Sharon,
I couldnot relocate your post but it was about marriage of
Reuben Denton (16) and Eliner Harrison
Granville, NC   Jan 14, 1804 w/ John Denton, bondsman

May I ask, have you gotten confirmation that this is your Reuben?
The reason I ask this, I am connected to Harrisons through my very confused, disputed Moore line (Bernie may remember me bemoaning all this, as they repeated the same darned names over & over & over plus it being the very common Moore surname)------but there is a theory line about surname Stark (I think I remember correctly) about it being James Stark in Granville, NC that had a daughter married to James Harrison when James Stark died he gave land plus slaves to his dau, he gave slaves to his son-in-law, James Harrison and then gave land and slaves to his ?supposed grandson, Benjamin Harrison and slave (?s) to his ? supposed granddaughter, Ellender Harrison. Do you suppose this may be the same person?  With a misspelled or abbrev name on a marriage record?

Let me know if you think this might be connected? I'm pretty sure I've kept some info on that but if I didn't I'm sure I can back track the info if you think it is connected.
Beth

P.S. for the 1860
I think I had found a Mary Denton
with Elizabeth Denton appeared these were mother & dau
and two girls aged 2 who were Susannah and Liddy I think it was.
This was Izard Co., AR twp Northfork, I believe (my notes are at other computer) but I

1850 Arkansas Census    Rueben is 62 yrs old with Mary 49, Joseph 14, Samuel
12, Elizabeth 9.
1860 Rueben is not accounted for--suspect he died

Sharon?  Have you found Reuben's widow in 1860?

Bernie
