Thanks Carold. I haven't got through the other Thompsons yet. There are alot
of Thompsons though. So far i haven't found any one i recognize. Don't wear
your self out and take your time. Thanks for being so thoughtfull. June

sent to Kentucky and enlisted several hundred men. He came to Arkansas in
1885 to Stuttgart, Arkansas. He died in 1896 and was buried in Lone Tree
Cemetery in Arkansas County, Arkansas.

John on May 20, 1861 enlisted in Company D, 5th Tennessee Volunteer
Infantry, CSA. He was at the battles of Shiloh, Perryville, Murfreesboro,
Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, Atlanta, and Jonesboro. He had the measles
while in the service. He was paroled in Johnsonville, Tennessee on May 23,
1865. He served 4 years and 3 days. He lived in Sebastian County, Arkansas
after the war. His wife was buried in Clark Chapel Cemetery in Sebastian
County.

family came to Arkansas in 1850 and located in Pope County. John married

the Confederate Army, Company E, 15th Arkansas Infantry on July 15, 1861. He
mustered in at Gravelly Hill, Pope County, went to Tennessee and thence to
Mississippi. He was active in the battles of Pea Ridge, Corinth, Fort
Gibson, Bakers Creek, Big Black. He was captured here May 17, 1863 and held
captive at Philadelphia and Ft. Delaware until September of 1863. He was

exchanged and sent to Richmond, Virginia where obtained a furlough, going to
Jackson, Mississippi. He walked to the Mississippi River and paid %50.00 to
cross. He then walked across Louisiana and

ended and marched with his company to the state house in Little Rock and

Conway County to far and raise stock.

She was born September 5, 1852 and died December 18, 1890. Joseph died May
8, 1903 and was buried with his wife in Cypert Cemetery in Phillips County,
Arkansas.
