Ha!! Vera i bet alot of others could relate with our stories. Yeah! they
would get in the seams in your mattress, and at night was eating time when
you got about asleep. I do remember my grandpa came to our house from
another place and had an old wooden bed stead and he didn't won't any one in
his room or bothering his things at all, and mom and dad checked his room
one dad while he was out and found some bed bugs in his bed and they tore
his bed down took the whole bed out side filled the old black kettle full of
water got it to boiling and really douced the bed and killed the bugs bed
clothes and all, and when grandpa came home he threw a real fit, but no more
bed bugs. LOL. He was contrary as he could be. Bless his heart i remember
the day he died in Sept 1937 at my Uncle Owen's house on Upper Twin Creek,
and my cousin and i was standing by his bed and keeping flies off him with
some little limbs off a tree, and he stopped breathing and i ran out side
and got my dad and Uncle Owen and they worked his arms and he would breath
again but that was short lived and he passed away. Back then you didn't take
them to funeral home. have a picture on my web site of his casket in the
front yard and me standing on the poarch with my head turned. I was 7 yrs
old.
Here i go again.LOL June
