My sister-in-law's Ex-mother-in-law is still living around Cave City. I
think.
I was helping her grandson with a school paper he needed.

m-i-l's father Overton Elisha James 1878-1971
his father George W. James 1854-1937

She said something about 5 James brothers came to the USA from England
My gr gr grandfather E. K. James was one of the 5.

William James was one of the 5 and gr grandfather of Jessie Woodson James.
John James s/o William was grandpa of Jessie.

Robert James s/o John was Jessie's father.

So my great Grandfather Eligha (way it's spelled this time) was
1st cousin to Robert - Jessie's dad.
Eligha 2nd cousin to Jessie
Jessie was
3rd cousin to my granddad James
4th cousin to my Dad
5th cousin to me
6th cousin to my kids

I guess that would make Jessie 7th cousin to the kid I was helping with his
home work.
