Mar 1, 1956 – Funeral Services For A. T. Smith Held Friday At Boswell
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Saint’s Rest Baptist Church at Boswell for Albert Thurman Smith. Mr Smith had passed away last Wednesday at the Izard County Memorial Hospital. He was 60 years old. Rev. Hugh Cooper, pastor of the Melbourne Baptist Church was the officiating minister. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at Calico Rock under the direction of the Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Mr Smith had been a life-long resident of Izard County. He was a merchant, farmer and was also postmaster at Boswell. He had been a member of the Boswell Baptist Church since he was 12 years old. He also was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Mr Smith is survived by his wife, Carrie of the home; two sons, Troy of Calico Rock and Grady of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs Mildred McNeill of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs Treva Knowles, Rushton, La. He also leaves a brother, Sylvester Smith of Boswell, six grandchildren and other relatives.
