Junebug, Your making my mouth water talking about all this stuff!
I'd forgotten about how great that gingerbread made with molasses was!
Raining a ton here in LR! Coming down slower today, thank goodness.
Maybe more will soak in, we surely needed it.
Take care, all
Beth

Yes, Gen those "lasses" as we called them are great. I keep them now and eat
with biscuits, and butter. my dad had a mill back in the 30's and made
molasses for every one on Twin Creek. he took them for making for other
folk's. We ate molasses cake, cookies, ginger bread, peanut brittle, and
taffy. I have an old mollasses pitcher that my great dad had passed down to
grandpa, and on down to my dad. My mom was a good cook. She let me make corn
bread and cookies when i had to stand on a box pushed up to the cabinet. I
was the only girl in my family. Had 2 brothers. they kinda turned me into a
tom boy. Ha!!
We finally did get a little needed rain . Enough that the grass looks
greener.
Have a good day tell mom, and dad hi! for us. Love June
