According to Mary Verlin Jones Harris, (In her story in Down Memory
Lane #VI), she says:
My dad's first wife was a Carter. she must have died awfully younn,
they had a bunch of children. (Names children). Her mother (Mary Verlin's
mother), second wife of John Jones, Jr. was Eltie Chadwick Jones.
