Feb 12, 1948 – Mrs Mittie Angeline Kerr
Mrs Mittie Angeline Kerr, died suddenly about 5:30 a. m. the morning of January 30, 1948. Mrs Kerr was at the home of her daughter, Mrs C. R. Roughton, 515 Electric St., Rogers, Arkansas. Mrs Kerr had been in ill health for the past several years.
She was born in Calico Rock, Arkansas on December 20, 1874. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Uen Benbrook. She was united in marriage to William Kerr, on December 20, 1898 at Pineville, Arkansas. Mr Kerr preceded her in death March 12, 1936 at Centerton, Arkansas.
To this union was born five children, four sons and one daughter, Harence (sp) Kerr, who preceded her in death at the age of five and leaving to mourn her passing three sons and one daughter; Delma R. Kerr, Melbourne, Ark., Mrs C. R. Roughton, Rogers, Ark., Asa Kerr of Los Angeles, Calif., and George W. Kerr of Rogers, Ark. She also leaves seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also three brothers, Robert Benbrook, St. Joseph, Missouri, Elbert Benbrook, Memphis, Tennessee and Asa Benbrook of Woodward, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs Kerr had been a resident of Benton County since 1922. She lived in the Centerton Community until 1937, when she moved to Rogers to make her home. She was also a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at the Centerton Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2:30 p. m. by the Rev. Mrs Catherine Ferrell. Burial was in the Centerton Cemetery.
