Aug 31, 1945 - Former Calico Rock Boy Killed in Action
Word has been received here of the death of Billy Gene Grimmett,
Seaman 1C, who was killed August 3 aboard his battleship off Okinawa. He was
the son of Mr and Mrs Solon Grimmett, former residents of Calico Rock who
moved to Harrison several years ago.
Billy Gene was a graduate of Harrison High School, where he was
a member of the school band for three years. He was also a Boy Scout.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a younger brother, Joe Dean..
