I have done a bit of research on both the Nicks and Puckett families.
Here is something I found on Genforum that mentions Elizabeth's father....

According to Robert PUCKETT, author of David PUCKETT of VA and KY and His
Decendants (1997), Nevill/Neville/Nevul NICKS was born (date unknown) in
Hickman Co., TN.

Neville died 4 Jul 1918.

His parents were William Jesse NICKS, Jr., (1818-1864) and Elizabeth Ann
PUCKETT(1829-1925). Elizabeth's father was Joseph Neville PUCKETT, MD.

Neville NICKS married Martha R. "Donna" BOLER. She was b. 23 Mar 1853, d. 5
Feb 1909.

Note by HRB.......This is Neville Puckett "Tink" Nicks.... (He and his wife are
buried at Violet Hill)


Dr. Richard Hughes Beale's (1851-1908) marriage to a Mary Dona Nicks (born
1855 in Hickman Co., Tennessee and died somewhere in 1948) in Izard County.

Mary Dona Hicks is from the William Jesse Nicks (born 1820 in Maury Co.,
Tennessee) and Elizabeth Puckett (born 1829 in McMinn Co., Tennessee) line
and Nicks died in Izard County. Don't know what happened to Elizabeth
Pukcett.

Last night I went online to see what I could find out about the Nicks
family.

Mary Dona Nicks had a sister named Sarah Ann Nicks and I found her death
certificate online. It confirmed Elzabeth Puckett as her mother - but, the
informant was a Laura Gorrell and this woman did not know who Elizabeth
Puckett Nick's father was.
