I have been confused by that James (Widow) in the 1920
Census as well, don't think it is correct. I think she is just out of
pocket and he is not a widow. The children match well enough that it
has to be the same James O. Note that James O. and Nora had their
last child in 1915, Lester Ashley. So his first child with Maude was
1926, so there is some slack time in there.
Now in that same census there is a James M. Marchant with a
wife Nora however if you look at the last person, it is the sister in
law and she is a Bertha Wayland 18. Now that would be the daughter of
Jonathan and Elizabeth Dixon Wayland, but they did not have a
daughter Nora, or did they? Nora was 37? in 1920, well Jonathan and
Elizabeth got married 27 Sep 1883, guess there is time if they hurried.
If we solve all these problems we will have to hurry as well.
