Jan 31, 1946 – Death in Action of Former Knob Creek Man is Confirmed
The War Department recently notified Mrs Iva Lee Green of Salinas, Calif., that her husband, Pfc. Gothie Green, was killed in action in German last March, Pfc. Green was reported missing March 19.

Pfc. Green was the son of Mr and Mrs Noel Green and was born and reared at Knob Creek. He and Mrs Green went from here to California about five years ago. Mrs Green is the daughter of Mr and Mrs A. P. Finley, formerly of this place.
