William 'Bill' Edward Lancaster
1/11/1927 - 5/4/2007

William E. 'Bill' Lancaster died May 4, 2007 at Hospice House of the Ozarks
in Mountain Home.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2007 at Roller Crouch
Chapel, Mtn. View.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Foothills Baptist
Church, Mtn. View. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The Rev. Paul
Lancaster will officiate.

Mr. Lancaster was born January 11, 1927 in his grandparent's home in Round
Bottom. He was the son of Alfred Guy Lancaster and Nettie Gillihan
Lancaster.

Mr. Lancaster lived many years in Twentynine Palms, California where he
worked in the rock and gravel business with Hi-Desert Concrete. He returned
to his home in Mtn. View in 1979. He was Third Degree Mason and was a Past
Master and member of the Oasis of Mara Lodge in California.

Mr. Lancaster was active in the community. He served on the City Council and
was Mayor of Mtn. View from Jan. 1999 to Dec. 2003. He was instrumental in
planning and obtaining the funding for the walking track and park in Mtn.
View during his term as mayor.

Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son and his
brother-in-law, Orla Roberts.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Janis R. Lancaster, three
sons; Ronald and wife Tammy of Clarksville, William Todd Lancaster of Lake
Havasu City, Arizona, Brett Lancaster of Imperial Mo., a daughter, Keri
Morrell and husband Claude of Magnolia Miss.; three stepsons, Robert Crum
and Anita and family, John Crum, and Peter and Gayla Crum and family; a
sister, Anita Jo Roberts of Monroe, La., a grandson, Kyle Lancaster of Lake
Havasu City; two nieces and one nephew.

Pallbearers are Kendal Alexander, Denver Gulley, H. Todd Lancaster, Tim
Storey, Barry Storey and Reese Tubbs.

Honorary pallbearers are Max Cheney, Billy Gayler, Harold Lancaster, Vernon
Lawrence, Alvy Mitchell, Flynn Norman, Jim Rice, Ronnie Sterling, Benny
Stevens and Harold Talbert.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice House of Mtn. Home, 701 Burnett Drive, Mtn.
Home, AR 72653

Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
