Bernie,
I'm not sure who John Langston is or his age or could there may be two John Langston. The information I sent was taken from the Wolf Family File.
I'm not sure about the dates. If his mother died in 1840 he could not have been born in 1879. This in from the notes on him.
John was born in 1820. The land sale places his parents in AR in May 1820. John's mother Patti, died in 1840-1. John and his wife Maldred Livingston are thought to have been living with Nathan's household at the 1840 census.

The notes on Maldred says her husband died between 1840 and 50.

I'm confussed , I think we need to get in touch with Ms Allen or Dorothy Boynton maybe they can help.
