Jan 29, 1937 - North Arkansas News Briefs

Mrs Martha Stroud aged 75, died Sunday afternoon at her home
near Mt Pleasant and burial was at Bethlehem cemetery Monday afternoon.
Besides her husband, Dr Jeff Stroud, she is survived by five sons; Ezra,
Espy, Otis and Ellis Stroud, all of Mt Pleasant and Jim Stroud of Ft Worth,
Texas and two daughters; Mrs Effie Duren of Wayne, Oklahoma and Mrs Ethel
Hightower of Sidney. (Perpetural Calendar - Jan 29 was Friday and Sunday was
the 24th)

Apr 7, 1939 - Death

Dr W. J. Stroud 84, of Mt Pleasant died at the home of his son,
Ellis Stroud at Mt Pleasant, Saturday. Dr Stroud practiced medicine for 40
years at Mt Pleasant and Stella. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon
at the First Baptist church at Sage by the Rev Wilson Taylor. He is survived
also by four other sons, Espie of Sidney, Ezra of Mt Pleasant, Odis of
Stella and E. B. Stroud of Fort Worth, Tex., two daughters, Mrs Ethel
Hightower of Sidney and Mrs Effie Duren of Mt Pleasant.
