Calico Rock Progress - May 20, 1955 - Mrs Burgess Dies at Age of 80 years

Mrs Amanda Jane Burgess aged 80 died at her home in East Calico Rock,
Saturday. She had been a resident of this section for many years. She was a
member of the Church of Christ. Besides her husband, she is survived by two
daughters, Mrs Goldie Fountain of Calico Rock and Mrs Retta Lawrence of
Osceola, Ark., two sons, Oscar and Alfred Burgess of Calico Rock; 19
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at
Spring Creek Church, Monday afternoon, Jack Hobby minister of Church of
Christ, conducting the services. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery with
Hall Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
