#1 - I checked for Dixon in the Melbourne paper 1901-1920. The name Dixon
was mentioned several times but no Jefferson Davis Dixon.

#2 - In the Arkansas Gazette Obituaries Index 1819-1879 I found a:
Dixon, Henry M. issue 1879 Au 21 pg 5 col 1
That's the nearest I could find.
