I believe he was. Him & other Johnson's I'd have to dig to find them . But
some Johnson's turn up on Hodge census sometimes. I believe that My
greatgrandmother was Eliza jane Johnson & her parents were James & Hannah
Ferguson Johnson. Her name is different thru the years on census, but I
found an old tombstone of a young child with B.F. & E. J. Hodge,as parents,
so that confirms it for me. Her name is Jane Johnson on Emiline Hodge
Langstons death Certificate . I can't get too far past that. I found James
Johnson in my Great grandpa's bible . Heyden, Ar. I know quite a bit about
Emiline's family. I can remember her & me & my mom went to Malden , Mo, to
visit George & Kermit her sons. They were both born at Creswell, Ar. Rumor
is or I think Eliza Jane had twins James Alja & Frances Elizabeth Claiborne
1882. I know Benjamin Franklin Hodge married Eliza Jane Johnson 1885 . She
was pregnant , Emiline was born in 1885 & my grandpa William Alexander aka:
Bill, Willie, W.A. Hodge was born 1887. But Fanny took the name Hodge & was
married at the home of Benjamin when she married William Owens. I can't find
them on claiborne census. One of Benjamin's census had James A. Claiborne
stepson. I have 3 pictures of Alja HODGE & Fanny named one of her boys Alja.
Family rumor from my mom said he went off to the war & never came back.
I don't know about Elbert's military career. I never knew him or Fanny. But
I'd love to have a picture of them. I have some old photo's I found in my
grandfather's things. My mom knew everything, but I was stupid enough to
think I would never lose her, but did in 2001. So my memory is helping some.
I can't Locate a death certificate on Benjamin, John or Tom Hodge. They are
all brothers.
Anyway any help will be appreciated & I will in return. Tell me what you
need. I won't be back on the computor until Monday. Havea good one , Ilene
