As far as I know there are no bible or marriage records. As you know the
court house in Izard Co burned. John Carney is said to be buried in the
Lunenburg Cemetery. I read somewhere Mary died young and her son James
Carney of TB. In 1900 John M. Gray and Maud are in the 1900 Grayson Co, TX
census. In 1910 John M. Gray is with William and Maude Haney in Clay Co,
TX. There is no wife in 1900. John and Maude are boarders in a house
including the Strouds (his sister). I tried to get a death certificate for
Maude but you have to be a close relative in TX. Whoever gave the
information on John and Maude for the Clay Co cemetery book must have know
this family (probably one of her descendants) to know that John M was the
son of William and Jane Gray with wife Mary Marchant and this info for
Maude. William F and Nannie are also buried in the same cemetery and he is
not listed as a son of William and Jane so they evidently did not know that.
Maude was born Jun 3, 1881 so this fits John being single in 1880 and Mary
Carney with her parents.
The last reference to William B. Gray is in the deed of 1874. I have found
no other reference to he or Cassey. Perhaps a Marchant has more information.

Mildred, Mary Marchant, listed with her parents in 1880, is married to a
Carney and has a child, James Carney living with her. I can't find either
Mary or Cassey in 1900 or later census records. Do you know what happened
to them? I found William B. (son of William and Jane Wren Gray in 1870, but
not in any later census records. Do you have Bible, marriage, or some other
type records that support the marriage of Cassey to William B. Gray, and
Mary Carney as a second marriage to John M. Gray?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Wilma
