This is the right John Walter Simpson that was Bertie's Burns second
husband. He is buried in Roberts Cemetery also.
I would guess it was "Your" Twin Creek, although I don't know for sure.
I'm also guess it was to make a crop. ( Guess this may be another old
saying ) For those that don't know what "making a crop" is, that would be
from planting and harvesting the fields with whatever the farmer was growing
for the year, be it corn, cotton, cane and etc.
I do remember Dad saying he spent one summer with Bertie and Walter on White
River above Norfork. He was helping them with the farming for the summer.
You go up 201 a few miles from Norfork and go to the left, back to the
river. That would have been in the mid to late 1920's.
I think it was a rented farm on the river so I would guess that they did
the same thing at Twin Creek. I have not check to see if they own any land
in that area's. I should check that out.
